We will be in the new place on or around the 15 Aug. Its a condo in Coral Gables. I had State Farm for renters insurance in Wash DC on arpartment so I called them and they said since I was a current customer I could transfer it to Fl. Called and they said they would get me a quote 5 hrs later they called and said that it was too close to the water:confused: and they could get me citizens through the state. Price was 800 plus while the policy in Wash was 132. Are any of you insurance agents or do you know someone I could call? Its not to insure the condo its not mine just the contents and liability. This aint stopping me I am coming and the boat will follow. Thanks for any imput and isnt citizens the one that didnt pay some of you all. Rick

Thank you for the reply. I guess I have been spoiled. In De I pay less than a 1000 for property taxes which at age 65 goes down by 75% and thats on a 4200 ft water front house. Car insurance is 134 for 6 mo. I got a little sticker shock and if I affended anyone I apologize and think its time to move on. Thanks S&F Rick out

unfortunately what rich said is true, but youll find its not just that insurance, wait till you try and insure your boat, car, or anything else, it borders on the criminal, it was one of the reasons i left, i couldnt afford to live there anymore. But not to bring you totally down, if you can afford it, and can look past the pucker factor of the cost of living, it really is not a bad place to live if your into the ocean type stuff.
