Recently bought a talon 18 that sat for a while like a year, finally got it put together and will run fine in neutral but under load forget about it! took carbs off and cleaned and changed gaskets, changed the diaphrams on the fuel pump installed a fuel sep. and am planning on cleaning out the fuel tank (24gal.) would like to hear any tips on pumping out the tank and what to use to clean out the gunk, or any other thing that might be needed. Thanks in Advance!!

As For Getting The Gas Out Of The Tank Go To A Auto Parts Store And Purchase A Cheap Electric Frame Mount Fuel Pump And Several Feet Of Hose And Get Some Battery Terminals And Build Your Own Siphon Unit.i Got Lucky And On My 30 Gallon Tank The Plate That Holds The Sending Unit And Pickup Tube Was Removable And I Had Enough Room To Reach In And Clean .dont Know About Yours.

Removing it from the tank is not an issue ... where do you put it?

Down the storm drain, Right? I know, I know I'm just kidding I have a 55 gal. sealed drum that I will be taking to a disposal Co. here locally.

I'd throw it in the family bus 5 gallons at a time mixed with 10 gallons of fresh. If the octane is a little low, the knock detector and engine management system will compensate.

Maybe add a cheap inline filter to the cheap fuel pump solution above.

hope it helps
