Will a 2.4 Merc fit on a 2.0 mid.

I have a XR2 with low pressure on the #1 cylinder. Will a 2.4 fit on the XR2 mid? What parts would I need to do this? What parts could I use from the XR2? I have a line on a rebuilt 2.4 short block. Will the XR2 heads work or would I need 2.4 heads? I still do not know the cause of the low pressure. The piston looks ok from the exhaust port side. The rings still have spring in them. I lost water pressure and the engine got hot but the overheat alarm did not go off. I took the exhaust divider off and found pieces from an old waterpump. I had already put a new pump in and it is still intact. I have only had the motor in the water 3 times since I got the motor. I am going to put it back together and try it. The motor still ran fine afterwards. I had to idle back to the launch about 3 miles after losing pressure. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

everthang interchanges, unless tha 2fo iz a horz front 200, then the carb linkage, intake, and front are differnt(but will work with a front half change)

2.0 hedz work well on a 2fo
