I definitely agree about the need for locking in position. I don't know how handy they would be in a 'Stream, but it sure is handy in a family performance boat.

I took mine out for a couple of reasons. When I got my boat, I put one on my passenger seat to make it easy for water-ski spotting.
It seemed like the seat was never pointing straightforward at the end of a boat ride with a passenger and that always bugged me. Also, the seat base in my boat has a sleight incline towards the front of my boat so with the seat swiveled 180 degrees so the passenger can spot for a water-skier, the seat back was basically vertical. It wasn’t comfortable in that position.
It wasn’t a real bad thing. I wouldn’t want to discourage you from trying one. You might like it. I just prefer it with no swivel. If I did more skiing, I'd be all over it.

I had them on my Valero and they would swing back and forth everytime I hit a bump. I drilled 2 holes and put a removeable pin in to hold it. I could lock it forward or facing rearward but putting the pin in the appropriate hole. Worked great. No problems after that. If I had known Rickracer had the locking type available, I would have gone that route.
