I am thinking about moving the rear seat forward in my 24' Skater similar to the cockpit layout in the mid to late 90's 28' Skaters. I know I have seen a few pics of boats that their rear seats moved forward. I am looking for ideas on how to do it.
Does anyone have pics showing how it was done?
Does moving the passenger weight forward change the center of gravity?
Does it make a noticable difference in the noise level to the people in the rear seat?

Thanks,
Rob

Sen a pm to Jojo, he did his himself. He used part of an old race hatch. Came out real nice. His screen name is modzi68. ;)

Doesn't change performance or noise level much. Does improve the ride however. Never liked the back seat anyway.

Thunderduck, when you said that moving the seat improved the ride. Can you please explain how the ride improved. I would like to know if it is worth the expense of making this conversion.

Thanks,
Rob

I moved mine 27" forward. I used 2 pieces of Aluminum Angle with ends welded on. I cut up a race hatch. JoJo used what I had left to make his. The passengers ride is much better with the seat moved forward. I also had PPI make my back seat into a three person bolster type seat.

RobAt low speed the boat tends to tunnel buck and the farther forward you are the less you tend to fell that even at speed it is a better ride because the back of the tunnel get's smacked first so the farther forward the better and you as you saw in thunderducks pic's you gain some storage back their by moving the seat forward. I would do it .I have a 24 i did it to and i like it. Hope this helps. Rich. leadingedgepropeller.com
