The boat is outfited with a 1989 anniversary edition 200 merc with a 28 pitch big blade chopper prop and a jack plate. It also has a 1 foot extension to bring the motor away from the boat.

1. When should I be using the jack plate?
2. Should I trim the boat all the way and then use the Jack plate?

I had to boat running in a small chop heading into the wind and was able to get it up to 65mph on the GPS. I was only to get about half the boat out of the water..How do I get more of the boat to lift????

Thanks mike...

What kind of rpm's are you turning with the 28? Also do you have a water pressure gauge? If so, what kind of pressure are you seeing? Chuck

im not sure how everyone does it but
i would think leave it level then raise it untill it blows out a little then drop it back down a little and trim from there always right on the edge of blowing out
watch your water pressure

Raise the jackplate until the water pressure starts to drop, then go down until you regain good pressure. On trimming, trim it until the rpm's stop increasing or forward progress( the boat gains r's but No speed) decreases. Chuck
