If your doing a complete re-wire or only adding something do yourself a favour and add labels to the wires. If you don't have a labeler use electric tape and a permanant marker. Put them on like little flags. It don't look pretty but who cares?
Although the color code tells you what what does. Its a whole lot easier seeing a tag that says IGN. or F pmp. ( make sure you use simple names!)
Some of my wiring is labeled but most isn't now I have to look at wiring diagrams to figure it out, all over again.:(
The diagram I mention is one I made. Most don't have even this and 4 years from now you will be totaly flustered.:D
I labeled all the wires on the stereo install on my car a decade ago. When I peeked at it it all made sense immediatly. 3 amps 10 speakers Xovers...It all makes sense.
