Just got a call from Progressive... The EXACT words from my agent were... Our uderwriter has done a on line search and what they are saying in the boat forums is that your boat goes over, way over our 90 mph cap!!! And useing that to set the standard for my boat!!
My exact word to her were that what ever is said on line ain't always true so how can they use it as a standard... Told her MY BOAT DON'T GO THAT FAST..
The agent said she would have the underwriter call me but I would also be getting a memo and that I have about 3 weeks left on the insurance..

I think that because it is a new to them Brand boat they are checking it out better.. What is stopping them from looking at the Bullet and Allison speeds?? Take it further, all the S&F boats!!!

I want to think this is the tip of the iceburg and if they don't drop ya now they will use it on ya later...

Anyone getting a new boat that is posted on line that goes over 90 better try and figure out if they will have insurance afterwards..

Maybe the 300X is making them ck me more then others..

Allstate said the samething

Here in Ky, progressive will make you sign a form stateing that your boat won't run 90mph or more...

Getting hard to find insurance on fast boats.

Had to sign it here to, for the props I run the boat doesn't go over 90, I swear..

Hate to preach, but keep posting speeds and it will get worse.. This and anyother site aren't but a few key strokes away!! All they have to do is read and press print, heck it is even easier for them with us Bass Boaters, they just need to subscribe to B&W and read it on the john!!

Prop tests and all show speeds and what the boats sre capable of in the right hands with the right setups!!

Insurance companies, and marine police constantly monitor this site as well other boating sites, then note the different speeds that are claimed by boaters, that's where they get their info. so that they can claim high performance boaters are unsafe. Bad thing is a lot of the decision makers in the insurance industry probably have never been in a boat, as fare as the marine police they see high speeds posted and automatically decide that they better call out the troops and look for them fast looking boats. Just seems like they think a trolling motor hanging on the front will cause it to run below 50 mph.

Good luck in your search, happy & safe boating! Jimmy

Thanks Jimmy:D .. Called and talked to the underwriter today, he had done a search and came up with the Stroker factory website.. All the articles and tests are there and they all state speeds from 95 to 104.. He even quoted me a few speeds and motors so can't argue with that:( Statefarm will cover me but I have to move boat to an addy west of 95 to get out of the hurricane zone...

Gonna call Inamar and Markel tomorrow and see what the quote me..

I had to remove most of the gps pics that showed the 100plus speeds from my website. Seems insurance companys were looking at them and using it as a reason to not give potential customers coverage. I lost a few sales because of it.

My State Farm agent says that they wont insure boats capable of 70+. So I've had to use the 'prop' lie a few times. They also won't insure tunnels, so when I had my Virage Turbo, I told them it was a tri-hull :D

Guy's
I had Progressive with my Liberator when I insured it I went through my broker. The brokers take all the information and for some reason do not know what the carrier will insure or not. Progressive paid off but it took a month. I would also tell you that when you insure make sure they have every detail they ask for because if their is a claim they will look to hang there hat on anything not to honor it. As much as insurance is important make sure if you are buying a new boat READ THE WARRENTY PERIOD on the hull, as you do on the power.I have hooked up with a good insurance company if your interested send me a pm and I will give you the name. I do not want to put the name on a public forum

I have said this before; If your boat does a 100 and you tell them it does 75, you might as will not even get insurance!!!!! Falsifying info to them is going to come back and bite you. Just to have insurance to say you have insurance doesn't help you, if God-forbid you have an accident and they won't pay you.;) With a insurance companies, honesty is the best policy. Chuck

ITs funny how they will insure a motorcycle that runs 180+ on a 18 year old kid but wont a boat that runs over 90, Matt

Chuck, most of them 10.2 million illegal aliens drive, and drive with out insurance.. My biggest fear is getting hit on the rd by an uninsured motoist!!

That would have no reflect on how fast the boat goes. If the boat is totalled then it will be well worth having that insurance..

Heck I wouldn't claim much else anymore, I've been boating and paying insurance for 17 yrs with 2 claims and was flat turned down by 2 Insurance companies due to a bad claims history!! Hell Gieco has a seperat phone #er for Florida and Louisiana residents wanting boat insurance.. Louis

cause the guy with the motorcycle will most likely just kill himself and all they need to pay is the property damage

I'm checking into insurance on mine for the highway and thieves/vandals... but I doubt I could get any for operation.
