Gentleman -

Who should I talk to if I want some extra HP out of my 300 Promax's? What would these gains give me? How much $? Do I lose reliability? Pro's/Con's?

I have a pair of these rigged to a 30 foot Spectre.

Thanks,

Mike: www.simonmotorsports.com is the way to go. Call Eric Simon - really nice person too.

Wayne Taylor gets big HP out of them for not too bad of a price. Call him at 334-874-7473

Like Randy said call Wayne at MAD EFI. Prices are very reasonable and he will spend as much time on the phone with you as you need. Do exactly as he says. It works.

Check out this post. http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134900

I cut the exhaust canister, got more air into the cowl and added his intake to my 3.0 225 EFI and gained 6 mph top end.

Next step is to recurve the EFI/Fuel controllers. I have the same IGN box as you. Right now max timing is only 14 at 3000 (could be 28) and the motor wants more timing. Also found by using his Fuel control dial that the motor wants more fuel up top. Don't want to give up my boxes for a recurve right now though.

Eric and Wayne saw the potential of the 3.0 Mercs before anybody else and are way ahead of the curve because thier forsight.

Both believe in building pump gas engines that produce lots of power and live so they can be enjoyed. You could not go wrong dealing with either of them. One other thing - both are extremely honest and will help you even if you do not buy anything.

I use Wayne because he is uglier. There is just something wrong with a 40 year old like Eric who still looks like a 20 year old surfer.
