State Farm is no longer covering boats within a mile of the ocean. I live less than a mile away and I will no longer have coverage for my STV Euro. Any ideas where I might be able to get coverage? spiderman1956@hotmail.com Scott

That's total BS. There's got to be some fall out going to happen from this. I'd tell them you're going to be looking to take all your insurance elsewhere... unless they're REAL strict on this.

Was that yours [I think it was red] that was hanging in a lift on the Indian River Side going to Sebastian Inlet? We noticed it while renting a beachhouse in Floridana Beach for Memorial Day Vacation.
Have you tried Progressive? They insure my PWC and State Farm has my A-boat. I have also heard of Allstate insuring some Performance boats.

Progressive won't cover anything that has air entrapment tunnels in the hull. Some performance makes such as Eliminator are on their "blacklist." Even if they insure you, they're drop you if you try to make a claim.

Insurance raises it's ugly head again!!!   Allstate only insures to 90MPH on bassboats and I think 70 on others..And their carrier checks boats, motors and tells them what speed they think it will go..

State farm wouldn't write me a policy due to the hurricane zone, even though the boat is on a trailer and can move..

Progressive wrote ma a policy.. This will start affecting more and more performance boaters soon!!! Wait till ya see the premium that your next insurance co. wants...

Ne problem in Fla will be the Speed limits in lakes and canals, they are tring to ass Lox to the list, don't bother most of us "YET"....

Hope your search for insurance ends soon and in your favor!!! Louis

I have my ski racer with ALFA (Farm Bureau in some states) however I have everything I own including my life with them.

I know some of our boaters in our area do have ins. with Progressive & have had no problems with cancellation due to claims. If the boat is overpowered they will cancel you.

Check Boaters World they have a insert in their catalog advertising boat insurance.

Good luck with your search, & happy & safe boating. Jimmy
