Anyone,
I'm thinking I need to do a timing check because my 2.5 idles good although seems like it chugs or is missing between 1000 and 2500 rpm. Top end is way down around 5500 with an assortment of different props used. Does anyone have knowledge on the timing and this problem that I am having. I have checked all plugs, which read good, and it runs smooth until it drops off at 5500 rpm with the exception of the rpm range mentioned above. I despirately need more rpm's out of my merc because I am power hungry. Reeds are new and carbs are clean. Thinking it could be timing out of whack. What do you guys think. Help please.
