Any of you guys boat on Long Lake in the Adirondacks in New York?? My dad and I went there 2-3 times a month while the water was open to fish. We camped at the far end of the lake where the lean-to sites are. My initials are carved in all of them at the end of the lake. I am hoping to get up there with dad for one final fishing trip before I don't have the opportunity.....dad is getting up there in age. Seeing that I am in NC now and he is living in Germany, it will be quite a trip to get planned. Just wondering if there are any S&F members up there.

PS: If there are, I would pay you a fee to get a few digital pics of a few of the specific sites we camped on. It would sure make dad smile to see them. Get back to me if you could help me out.

My brother lives in Raquette Lake, actually, he is the Forest Ranger in charge of the Moose River Flats in the Winter, and the Hudson in the summer;)

Haven't been ON Long Lake myself, but suspect, not many Go-Fast boater on those

You guys are missing out if you haven't been on there. It is a great body of water. Not many houses at all, long, not filled up with boats. I would think that would be a great place to make some high speed passes. The fighter jets used to do training runs over the lake all the time. I remember the time they broke the sound barrier, we were fishing out on the boat, scared the absolute #&%$ out of dad and I, it is the only time I have heard that. Well, like I said, I am hoping I could find someone that would be on that lake that would shoot some pics for me, would bring a smile to dads face. Let me know if anyone could help me out.

A-10's still buzz the Adirondacks on their training missions, not sure Long Lake is easily accessable for high speed boat launches!Having owned a GT14 Glastron I could almost take the plunge on your G500!Nice boat!

By the way, Long Lake has a great state launch that you can get in the water nice and easy.

I know,I just question their reception to a bunch of hotboaters![even if Trikki's brother is the Ranger]

To the best of my knowledge, the south end of the lake where the river inlet is doesn't have much of anything other than some state campsites and very few houses. At minimum, go out on it some day and test the waters, it is a beautiful place.

since I live on a lake[Caroga] I usually just hang out here, although the RondackRomp @ the Great Sacandaga and the Ct.RiverRun in the Fall are interesting ventures.Mdshrk is planning a get together in August at PisecoLake,a definite maybe!!

Sounds great. I sure do miss the Adirondacks. We did quite a bit of fishing up there on Upper & Lower Saranac, Indian Lake, Long Lake, Lake George, Sacandaga, Upper & Lower Tupper and many more. Not to many places as beautiful as the Adirondack Montains and the lakes up there.
