Just bought a boat off a fellow that has a Bob`s Nose Cone on it. It didn`t cross my mind at the time to check to see if it had a lower drain hole for the lube. Surely, they don`t come like this do they? Would he of epoxyed over it? How do you drain the gear oil without hacking up his nose cone job?

It could have a HD carrier in it with a drain out the back, check under the prop shaft for a bolt on the lower support web, otherwise you're out of luck. I can't see someone covering it over and not having a way to drain the lube, but you never know...............

there should be a drain plug in the back of the carrier like burke said. that would be rediculous if someone coverd the drain hole without installing the HD carrier.

When I used to run a Bob's nosecone on an '88 2.4 I stuck a cotton ball in the hole in front of the skeg and epoxied over it. 1 tap with a ballpeen hammer brought the epoxy out. Smoothing the hole over kept the paint from being burned of by cavitation. Later Bob

I'll buy it if you want to sell to get another. As long as it's in good shape. Or you can get a H/D carrier and use the drain on the carrier. Mike
