after correcting some electrical problems on a 1996 200 efi, my engine will still not start and it is not getting gas to any cylinders. I've checked the low pressure fuel pump by switching it to the twin engine (have duel engines) and it works fine.

I tested the fuel pressure at the schaeder test port and it topped out at 27 psi. I assumed that the problem was in the vapor separator so I've taken it apart. What I found was that it had mostly oil in it and very little gas. There was some sludge at the bottom of the high pressure fuel pump filter..

any ideas?

My guess is it could be one of a few things. Either the water separating filter is clogged (probably not likely), you have some kind of restriction from the fuel tank to the pulse pump or the float in the vapor separator is stuck in the up position.

problem solved... removed the vapor separator, cleaned the filter thoroughly, made sure the float was working properly..then reinstalled and filled the vapor separator with gas using the primer bulb... after cranking a few times, the engine started.. billowed out a lot of smoke to start...

thx for your help!
