A huge thanks to Dave once again for putting this event together. Another outstanding job. Had to be more difficult than usual this year without your own boat running.
The weather was uncooperative at the start, but got better as time went on, and allowed many to concentrate on testing thier capacity to consume beverages, so all was not lost.:D
Thanks to ALL the attendees for just being themselves, there's not a finer group of nut cases anywhere that I'd rather be with. As usual, I went to bed Friday with cramps in my cheeks and my sides hurting from laughing so much.
Friday afternoon was quiet on the water because of weather, so a special thanks to Rich Owen for providing some excitement by sinking his boat:eek:
Thanks to Lynne and Ronnie for insisting I stay for lunch on Sunday, which allowed me to get home in record time.
Thanks to Maureen for all the great photos.
Apologies to those I didn't get to spend time with or even say much of a hello to. Thursday I wasn't even sure if I was coming, so it took me a little while to adjust to the fact I was even there:confused:
Sorry my other friends from Connecticut weren't able to make it.
Anyone within driving distance should attend this event at least once, it's just too much of a blast to missed.

Pedro, you owe no one an apology, you saved the day for me twice, now if I only used that damned battery switch I,too, could have enjoyed the Dam Run!Fortunately I'm gonna live forever,so I'll just wait for the next one!!Ben,I knew there was a reason why your Dam Time wasn't up there, cuz your boat runs as good as it looks! Thanks again for saving the day with your ''submarine observation''!!

It was definitely a different kind of Romp this year. Sun, almost no rain, but a lot of wind. The dam run was choppier than the main lake when we returned . Most of all a lot of gas was burned and a lot of new friendships were made. I missed the guys that couldn''t make it, but I don't give them a hard time, I'm sure they wanted to be there. It's that damn life thing always messing with our boating.

Lake conditions really suprised me, the big part of the lake was flat and perfect, going up the small part, it was blowing like mad:confused:
Glad I wasn't the real weather guy:D

Great job of putting and holding the Romp together Dave. I can't imagine how much work you do to put something like this together. Wished we (my brothers and I), could have spent more time with the gang from the 200 sites, Reserve America really stuck it to us moving us over to the other side of the inlet. Next year we will know better, now that we have seen the place once. It was fun meeting everyone and their awesome boats.

Tell him I have his shirts. I was told you dropped by but I was still on the lake. I'd be happy to mail them out to him.

Got sunburn.
Spent way too much money burning gas around a beautiful lake.
No one talked to me because i was from Long Island.
Ate way to many Donuts.
Did have the fun of working on my boat while I was there.
Didnt win the 50/50
Yea it sucked alright.
Maybe it will be better next year? Cant wait to see!
Agreed
Those miserable people continuously forced me to drink thier beer, and eat thier food.
They kept bothering me with offers to help launch/retrieve.
I give some guy an old greasy spark plug, he buys me dinner.
People kept complimenting my boat.
Somebody took a really cool video of me.
Why would I want to go to this thing again?

You guys are right, the Romp did suck.
1. I only got to burn $100 of gas in two days of running
2. I was only able to drink one case of beer before i fell asleep.
3. The food was great, I was forced to eat too much.
4. I had to wipe my boat off, the rain shower left water marks.
5. I didnt break anything.
6. The park rangers told us to quiet down every night because we
were having too much fun
7. The showers were free this year
8. The tee shirt i bougt fit me, and is way too cool for me.
9. My kids had a blast, so now they'll want to come again.
10. Last but not least, my wife had fun, so now she'll want to
attend next year's romp. :(

thought it was the fuel pump?
Put it in the water Sunday night, wouldn't get out of it own way. Called George, the only thing that the DDT said was a low MAP reading, low back not terrible. Had my driver pick one up from him today. Bolted it up and the beast came back. Soon as I started up, Tracy said it is fixed. Had the throaty sound back. It was getting dark but was able to make a pass. High 90's came quick with more to go. Back on the trailer and covered back up. All is good.:) Chuck
