Posted this problem before and thought I had it licked but...my SuperV 27 won't go on plane anymore. Plods along like a cheap electric. Batteries are OK. Motor seems like it's spinning fast and free. All connections are tight. Any ideas?

maybe bend the trim tabs down

Weight

battery placement

lube the flex shaft

try giving it a push up onto plane and see if it is as fast as it was

PUT SOME SORT OF FLOTATION IN IT
flotation wont help plane off but will save it if it blows over

Ended up being the batteries. got a fresh set of dtx 3800's. the thing flies, now. Flipped it twice. Nearly sank once. Needs more flotation. Whole lotta fun without the headaches of nitro. I was using venom 3300's. No one told me when I bought the boat that those batteries wouldn't cut it.

I knew right when I read this post It was the batteries. 3300 mah batterys are ok but, 3800s are better. next time pick up Intellect brand.
You might have got a bad pack with some trashed cells.
The charger you use Is the main focus. Do NOT use a wall charger. You need a charger that you can change you amp setting with for slow charge or fast charge.
The charger also needs to cut off when the batteries have peaked.
A triton2 charger works preety good or I use a astroflight.

Those trim tabs that come with the super vee blow... I would not try and bend them. You will never get them bent the same and you might tear up the transum on your boat!

Offshore electrics sells adjustable trim tabs that will fit right back In the same holes on the super vee.;) They cost about $20 bucks.
Scroll down to find them...

Thanks to all. I'm gonna mess with the tabs a bit now that the boat is really running the way it should. It looks like it might need some more foam. that little piece that floats around in the bow is way too little. Had a friend who sank his by the stern. the bow was sticking straightup so he gave it throttle. Amazingly, the thing righted itself and took off. Thanks for the info on the tabs.
