I have never tried the R50, but I have had really good luck with a product called Flitz on aluminum and other metals as well.

Mothers Billet is the best I've used, tried everything before and since, keep going back to it. You can buy it @ most any auto parts store.

...try Brasso Liquid and buff it off before it has a chance to start drying to a haze. Then wash with Tide and water.

have you guys tried the Zoop seal? I think I read on here where guys polished their sportmaster with it and it stayed shiny after being dunked in the water. I need to try some of this.

HI. With multiples of choices in this market I stay with 3M products. For initial agressive cleaning and polishing [super duty 05954,] followed by [finishing compound 05928] . These products are widely used in autobody shops and available at many body, paint suppliers thanks.

Flitz is good stuff also works great on Stainless too. Did a Colt King Cobra with it and it turned out like a mirror.

Block sand it to make it flat (fair for curved surfaces). Cut polish and color. Using any other method is like sanding with 600 grit when you should have started with 100. It will still work but your the work.
If you polish something without block sanding it it will still be shiny but not mirror shiny. The reflective diff on a car from the orange peel paint and flat window. Look at your reflection on a car to see the diff, or compare the smoothness of a paint job.
To keep it shiny you have to coat it with anything that blocks the air.
Or a quick buff once a year. Usually the better it protects the harder it is to remove to freshen it. The best is a 2 part clear paint.
