I have a model year 2005 300X on a checkmate. The boat and engine are new and the dealer put in Livorsi analog gauges. GPS Speedo, Tach, WP, Water temp, Battery.

The water temp gauge does not work (no reading).

The dealer also tells me there is no sender for a trim gauge on the 300x with the offshore bracket. I dont believe this.

I contacted Livorsi and they sold me an AGI device which is supposed to convert the digital signals from the Smartcraft Computer to analog for the gauges (water temp., tach, trim, oil level, ).

I purchased this device along with a 2 resistor cable which plugs into the engine and then to the AGI device. The AGI device has the sender leads for the various gauges but nothing seems to work. Am I missing something? Do I need something else?

I could really use some help from someone who knows something about Smartcraft technology.

i dont see why the dealer does make them work.

when you installed the AGI device you put the system outside Smartcraft. if you had put the smartcraft tack in with the sc guages it would have worked. to get the oil and fuel to go thru the SC you need a special cable which connects to the tanks and the paddle wheel.

i heard that some of the bigger merc do not have sender, you make have one. with smartcraft you need a digital sender not the analog unit. the digital sender has 3 wires and analog has 2.

send a pm if this does help.

After 2002 all 300x motors came stock with the 3 wire digital trim sender. Analog senders are avail from merc. Don't know why they say it doesn't come with a sender. Its on the right (starboard) side clamp bracket you can see it when at full trailer tilt the wiring comes in the lower cowl just in front of the block under the air intake hard to see with all the loomed wiring in that area. Three wire, loom wrapped and plugs in on a drop harness (apox. 6' long Y's back for the speedo plug on the back of the block) that unplugs when not rigging SC its there, seen it, got the paperwork, 300x 2005, sill rigging one day a at time. Single ram offshore mid.

dont go with the SC trim guage. the unit it deadly slow. either go back to the analog or better yet go mechanical.
