Nice lookin boat, Is it gas or nitro? what make is the hull? I only have 2 RC Boats left in the fleet, both gas, Got tired of toteing all the support gear to the pond, although the sound of a nova rossi .21 spinning 35,000 rpm is pretty radical. I have just come to love the simplicity of gas, just grab the boat and a gallon of premix and hit the water. Not quite as fast as nitro, but still a blast. I have a Aeromarine laminates sprint cat with a Zenoah G-23 that has run 52.1 on radar, I also have a Warehouse hobbies gator ( the beater boat ) with a stock 30cc echo that runs about 38-40 ( 38 into the wind, 40 with a tail wind ) I wish I could post pics but I don't have a digital camera. Anyway it's cool to see some people still Dig the RC boats.............Craig

This was originally a twin .90 boat!
Notice all the molds. .21, .45, .65/.80, .90, and twin .90. Some even had two hulls, with pad or without. I wish I had a dollar for everyone I built. Guy I use to work for won several IMPBA internat events.

is the nitro vee from traxxas with some mods....boat handles well...put 2 rudders on instea of one (has its own driving system)so the rudders jus support streering and porpoising...never flipped it yet but it slides on turns like a bitch...runnin an octura prop on it...its nitro not gas case u guyz r wondering...dosent have a tuned exhaust thats the next on my list
Im thinking of getting that one that looks like a hydrostream its called a byrds boat i think. My dad has two rc boats one is a dumas tunnel and the other is a v-bottom that looks just like his checkmate enchanter both are outboards

Crazy Horse, that is one bad looking R/C OB....never seen one with a pipe. Been out of it a long time. I still have a lot of my stuff. I have a son that is growing up, so I'll be dragging it out soon!
hydrostreamvulture1, if it is sliding out in a turn sounds like something with your turn fin is wrong (it does have one?). If you look at the hardware photo of the mono you can see. Only one rudder. These boats did take a lot of set up to make them competitive. Trim angle of the strut (over all trim attitude), trim angle of the rudder (trim attitude in corners). Prop and trim tabs. Once right, it is a bullet. Course was 300' long and 75' wide. You could damn near run an .80 mono wide open all the way around it (close to 70).

trim tabs on the boat...but the prop has it own "self driving system" a servo directs it instead of the rudders....kinda hard to explain....spins out in turns at about 3/4 open throttle..deep vee hull 2...i read about it...says becuz the prop when it turns creates lift which spins it out...its like an I/O steering system...if u can picture that..also another great system it has it the RTS system..(return to shore) system...if the boat stalls out it automatically has a battery backup so nomore swimming out for it:D

hydrostreamvulture1,That RTS system sounds like a great idea.It is a pain to go and get a boat when it run out of fuel. I could use one that would bring it back after it flips.FCnLA, The chamber on my boat sounds real good and makes that aerotech hull jump out of the corners.

is a great idea...all u do is hit reverse and the battery backup kicks in and the motor shuts off(if it isnt already shutoff)....no reverse tho but hey ya gotta give some to get some
about getting in to RC boating for a while now!
Ive been in and out of the rc car game for a long time and allways wanted a rc boat but when i go to the water i usualy want to bring the real thing!!
Has anybody heard of the Bandit tunnels?? They have a outboard tunnel that looks real nice, would like to hear some thoughts on which ones to get!
That Prather looks kool too!
Have any of you guys tried that semi new Lawless drive for the outboards and what they call the J-Pipe ? I believe that pipe on one of yours boat is called a J-Pipe or looks just like one !
What about motors, is K@B pretty much the best or what?
Does anybody make a replica of a Mirage or STV?? Anyways your boats look great cyu TUG:D

It's great to some guys out ther with some boats . The pond is cool , too small for hydros , but great for monos and tunnells . Go to Namba .com or IMPBA .com for racing and class info . I have a couple of nice boats I really dont have time to race if anyone needs some good stuff call me or e-mail me . Thanks , Tom .

Jim, what size motor is in that?

Man , That sounds a little optimistic , lets see some details , motor prop fuel etc , Tom .

Tug , the quick ticket to rc speed is either Mac or CMB engines . Get a 60 or 90 hydro and as long as you can drive it you will be blown away by the rough water capability and sheer speed . CMD racing .com , or cajun bullets .com . Call or e-mail me with any questions , always trying to further the sport . Thanks , Tom .

its a 7.5cc front exhaust rear intake Rossi R45-S (special), 7 port i believe. It is The same one as morris hobbies sells, but it has tweaks here and there, increasing the specs from the stock 2.5hp at 29,000rpm, to 3.2hp at 36,000rpm. I bought this one from a place in the UK and it cost me over $300
http://img71.exs.cx/img71/1117/im0006932aj.jpg
in the pic, notice dual flip-top tanks, one feeds into the other. i converted the fuel pump to a waterpump with a little help from parts that are used in the med industry  It makes the boat alot easier to run. you dont need to haul ass all the time to keep the water flowing. I can bring it down to an idle. well, as low as the motor will idle without dying, which is less than 5mph. :D pull it up to where I am, and refuel it while its still running.

55, yeah it scared the shart outta me, I was in a 200 yard long x 25 yard wide pond when i first ran this prop I worked, expecting it to run 37 like it did before. either my props bogged the motor too much or were too damn small (ie it took a prather 220 to let the motor rev, but a 225 would make it bog.) WELLL it didnt do either of those, with the work i did to the prop that I thought was way too big, it pulled the bow higher and flew like a fullsize progression or activator. it was neat.
the prop is a massively worked 255 prather SS, diameter cut down, tounge cut, blades thinned, sharpened, and a good bit of cup added in the trailing edge of the blade-more toward the tip, and the tip "spooned" (looks like a chopper). all of this on a surface drive strut that adjusts its "trim" by a titanium turnbuckle. trim was adjusted slightly "up". Fuel was 30%, tanks right on the CG of the hull, and it has the before mentioned water-pump.
I have a new outdrive in the works, its going to be way more stout than this puny thing, 1/4" 1 piece shaft, water pickup mount, along with adjustable height AND trim... BTW, the aircleaner is just for when I am starting it and taking it to the water, i take it off when i put the boat in.
