Hey guys,
I'm an Australian, looking to import a boat from the US. But there are just so many great boats. I've managed to spend time on progression boats when i was last in the states. I would just like to gauge opinion on the progression boats. My use will be leisure, dayboat, cruising etc. need a safe stable platform, nothing twitchy and between 21 and 30ft.
Are there any other boats that you would point me to have a look at.
Cheers,
ORB.

Progression is one of the best built, best designed boats there is. :)

What are the pros and cons of the stern drive twin v the single as far as the progression goes. The 29 i was in was only a single, and that seemed pretty darn good.

Today's engines are much more reliable and powerful than they used to be. That, in addition to modern building processes (especially in the case of Progression) makes the boats much lighter. As a result, the need for twin stern drives is reduced - especially in a 29-foot boat where you can easily go above 1000HP with a single engine.
Your best best with that question is contacting Progression though. :)

I've been over 90 in a single stern drive Progression 29 and it's such an awesome ride. The 29 handles so well. My personal favorite is the 27 though, because I love the way it looks with two 300s on it. :)

well 90 is more then plenty fast enough for my needs. And i know what you mean abou the 27 and the 2 300's gorgeous! they would rip through the 130 gallon tank without much adue.

That 27 runs over 100 easy - and those are not even 300X engines :)

I'm happy to lul about at 60-80mph...my last taunt with big numbers didn't turn out too be something i'd like to do again. i used to run a 25 talon with twin yamaha 250's, i've had the speed bug well squashed for a bit and just want a good boat with safe reasonable speed. that i can just cruise in and what not.
