What is the safest way to gain another 2 inches in propshaft height with a 4 liter v8? I have a stainless marine hydraulic jackplate and thier mounting hardware concists of double studs at each mounting bolt with their own backer plate with will not let me raise the motor on the plate. I am sure they require this for a reason. I need about 2 more inches in height. I don't really need any more setback but would consider a setback plate with some height built into it or a manual jackplate. Who makes these units that will withstand a v8? Would it be safe to mount another jackplate on the outside of the hydraulic jackplate with the v8? I would not be concerned it I was only using a v6. Any suggestions? Thanks.

hey silly, just get wayne to sit on the very front of the boat and that
will lift the back end up a little more...if youre nice give him some
duct tape so he dont fall off.

He wont even ride in the passenger seat let alone the bow. The prop shaft is 2 inches below the pad. It should really run when I raise it up even.

It is not mounted high on the jackplate but stainless marine says you must use their double studs and backing plates which means the bottom stud will not allow you to raise the motor at all.

Not sure about the stainless marine jack but with a previouse set-up I had to run mine close to the bottom holes on the clamp with a Bobs hyd jack with no problems

I had plates built that would allow me up to another 4" of vertical lift. 6061-T6 3/4" aluminum plate.

As you can see, the very top set of bolts don't need to be flat heads...they can be a standard hex bolt.
