im running a valero YT with a 2.4 merc on it.

had a 24p chopper on it and would rev out the motor(7000+ rpm) at around 70 mph, i put a 4 blade 25 trophy on there today and ran 73.8on the gps and still had a little left in the motor i was running 6000-6200 rpm but i kept running out of smooth water. would i be better of with like a 26p 3 blade of some sort. i had the motor jacked up as far as i could before i would spin the prop and loose water pressure. the only reason i ask is it takes a while for me to get up to rpm with the 4 blade unless i over trim the boat then trim down once im running 60 + i would like to gain rpm a little quicker yet still get some more speed out of the boat. im a newbie at this so any help is good.

take that POS and put it on the trailer, turn the GPS on and RUUUUUUUUUUN down the highway hooked to the truck!!

You should also be asking about eninge height do do bird.

Seems he has about 4-6 inches of setback (jackplate). The propshaft appears to be about an inch above the bottom of the pad.

Get some measurements......
