Got my motor started today and can't seem to get any water to it. I got it a little bit hot but not enough to fire the overheat horn. I have a pressure tap above #1 cylinder (V4) but it seems you have to rev it quite a bit to get any water at all. My 60 pees like a horse all the time when idling. Fresh lower & pump, thermostats serviced, checked water tube carefully when installing gearcase, running on the hose.
All 4 deflectors are in the cylinder block.

i'll take it is a omc. does it have a low water pick up. my 225 looper would never build pressure on a hose and would start to heat up if ran long enough. Try dippin it in the water and see what happens. don't take it off the trailer. i bought a horse troth to runn mine at home. just suggestion hope it helps .

No low water pick up.
Good idea, I'll give that a try tonight!

Dipped it in the river and all is well, it cooled perfectly. Guess I will need a tub of some kind too. Thatks Big Johnson!
