View Full Version : Dual ride guide torque Question
Does this system have much torque steer,I have it on a ski boat that I am rigging for the first time and do not want to have to constantly fight the wheel. The boat will never see 50 mph so a singe cable NFB would be my usual choice but this system is on the hull now with tilt wheel and is in perfect condition.Cables feed on the same side not opposed. It is easier to change now while the boat is in the barn than wait and see if I like it and tow the boat back 500 miles roundtrip. Thanks in advance.

Hi neighbor! I'm just south of you! Anyway... if you put it together and find
too much steering torque, you can always put a torque tamer on the skeg, or
do what I did... (see pic.) made from solid dura-glass and angled toward the prop.

if its that bearfoot, the normal trim tab should do the job. do the cable move freely without tha motor hooked up. if so go for it. if there tight then either lub or replace the cables.

i have dual ride guide on mine. it has tremendous torque steer at all speeds. i have yet to install a tamer.

He is probably running a submerged prop which will have way less torque steer.
