Does anyone know who was involved in the accident yesterday? I didn't see anything about it in the advocate, but I saw this on wafb's website.:(

I wish the news people and Wildlife and Fisheries would get the story straight. Steering bolt broke .Boat hooked. Byron went out the side. Boat was floating with all contents still inside steering arm hanging . It dosen't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. His crew ALWAYS had jackets on. I have never seen him act up or ride without a jacket. We will never know why he chose not to put it on Sunday afternoon.Mike

Yes the news always makes it sound like it was a race boat going 200mph and putting others at risk. We will never know why he did not put the jacket on but I can honestly say he was not doing anything that I have not been guilty of. Prayers go out to the family.

It's the typical sensationalized news - everybody's selling something and half the time it's not the truth; the truth is just too boring. In this case it's worse because it casts guilt on Byron and there's nothing he could've done when the bolt broke. I just wish he'd been wearing a life jacket....and that should be the story taken from this tragedy. Accidents can and do happen on the water and EVERYONE not just the go fast crowd is susceptible to an accident like this....WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET!
