I Have Never Had The Chance To Run A Cleaver Type Prop. I've Only Seen Them On Big Off-shore Boats And F1 Boats Etc. Do These Props Work On Lake Boats. I Got A 900lb Mod Vp. Any Ideas What One Would Be Like On This Compared To A 3 Blade Chopper?

Normally cleaver type props produce transom lift and round ear chopper types produce bow lift........
good luck

you only think you have enough transom lift.At the correct hight a cleaver prop will be a way better prop for your boat than a chopper.

doesn't it depend on the weight of his boat, purposes and overall setup/speed;)
However yes, I agree in most cases mod-vp boats will favor a cleaver type prop, esp for top speed

Well yes but these boats run on the surface so a surfaceing prop is what works best.A chopper is not realy a surfacing prop. You need these props on a heavy boat as well as a light boat.My old Lightning STV copy was heavy as a river barge and the best props were cleavers.

The chopper doesnt have any more speed left I bet but the cleaver does.Raise the motor and the cleaver will gain you speed and the chopper will lose speed.I meen if your chopper is runing that well it must be in the water some were they seem to work best.Is your cleaver a 14 or 14.5 or 15 diameter?also what kind of cleaver is the 31?Mostly 30 then 32's are what I've seen.

On mod vp's the cleavers seem to have a much better cruising speed. They dont porpoise near as much as choppers do. the ET is good combination

I had a 15' Laser vee bottom built extra light 400lbs! With a 150 in-line Merc XS. Best it ever ran was with a 14.5 x 28 cleaver. Barely any boat in the water!!

Yes and yes. These props run half out of the water so at that hight the water is level or just above the prop shaft.
