2005 3.0 Merc 225

Is there anyway of turning this motor more than 5750? I would like to get in the 6000 range if possbile.

I may be mistaken, but it seems like I have read that motor makes it's best horsepower/speed right around 5700 - 5800 rpm, and drops off after that.
