I'm back home now, and I had a little time to go through the many images we were able to shoot at the River Ranch. This event keeps getting better and better, and it's just amazing. So many fast boats, skilled driving, and so many good laughs - it does not get any better. A huge thanks to everyone that made this possible! This is a must-attend event.

Okay, now for the photos... I'll be adding photos to the new "River Ranch III" gallery, but for now, here are some sample images. All of the images in this post were shot by me, but I'll be adding Maureen's images in a follow-up reply tomorrow. Many more to come, so check back!

Just wanted to say thanks to lots of folks, but especially Corona Mike. For an event that big to come off that well, takes a lot of work. Thanks man, it was an awesome event. Also Scott and Charlotte for the jello, jojo and sue for the sombreros and tay-kill-ya, Hogg for the gator and hush puppies, Greg for the spin on the BMX, Driver for the behind the scenes stuff trying to get the race set up and the use of the shady oaks, Doug, Jodi, Foley and Gina for the auction and everyone who dug into their pockets, or donated items to help out Joe. Its a great family, and it was good to see so many of you again.. or for the first time.

Heavy law enforcement presence, but they were professional and pretty much left everyone alone that was not acting a fool. Like someone mentioned in another thread, they wrote probably 6 times the tickets to the bass boaters and airboaters than the couple tickets our group got for the entire weekend.

Here is a good example of what many of us saw last weekend. I was standing next to a couple of sheriffs on top of the hill when I took this shot. Hot boat- idle speed past where dozens of boats were beached; weekend warrior, plowing as much water making as big of a wake as possible; Bass boater at about 25-30mph driving around one, cutting between the two, and almost hitting both. The bass boat got pulled over.

Thanks Greg and Jody! Great Pictires! I just talked to Nancy Guran at River Ranch and she thanked me for the great bunch of people we had! everyone was curtious with only one minor complaint fron a time share owner and she said that was very common. She will "e" mail me the charge code for the November event tomorrow and said the Ranch is looking forward to seeing all of us again! I'll start a new thread as soon as I get it. Thanks again to ALL OF YOU for making this one of the best boating events in the country! Hope to see all of my friends on the water soon! Mike Tyler.

Keith, honestly, jonny law pretty much did not mess with us on the water. The FLW bass tournamant was going on the same week here and it seems they wanted to make sure everyone being crammed together could play well togehter. We did, the bass guys not so much, and they got the tickets. If we can get the permits straightned out for racing at the next one, we should be good to go.

Now the front desk/reservations at river ranch leaves somethng to be desired IMHO(I am 0-2 with those jerk-off's), but the place is awesome and it is definitely the must attend event in the S.E.

I agree - if the permits work out for racing at the ranch, that will be absolutely amazing. Next time, we need to get more people for the early Saturday morning photo shoot. That afternoon sun and haze acts like fogged glass at any distance, making high resolution photos very difficult. But, I wouldn't have it any other way - the River Ranch event is something I look forward to more than anything.

Jody, I'm gonna have some real BMX tricks ready for you all at River Ranch IV. X-Games, here I come! :D

Here's an interesting view of what I see at maximum telephoto, when I first achieve focus lock and I start snapping away. I get about 40 frames shot between this and the time he passes me. This is Dave in his STV building up to 131 MPH, at a distance of about 1 mile away. I get the best seats in the house looking through the zoom lens!

Great to see old faces and meet new ones, the parking lot party and ramp party great, sat night grill fest outstanding, hated to have to leave on sunday morning, arrived back in Al. late sun. afternon.

Thanks Mike and everyone that made this possible, it would have been really great without the po po, but unfortunately, they felt it was their sworn duty to be there to guard uss, guess that's the reason god made water cops and hemirroids, :D

We loved the location, the people at River Ranch were great, I'll definately plan to be at RR4 if there is a guarantee that the water cops will not be as plentiful, I realize that this was out fo everyone's control, because we have been there and done that at Smith Bend, I can be harrassed by water patrol here.

Looking foward to seeing everyone soon, had a great time other than the water cops and air show.

It was Cinco de mayo, tequilla was the shot to get the sombrero, so I had to cowboy up. At least you did not have to clean my chunks out of the golf cart. hahaha:p
