they are compairable to a REBUILT motor..... oversize pistons( if needed) new bearings & gaskets & seals..... Like i said i have installed a few.. But PREFER to rebuild it ourselves if we can......

The reman's from Merc are very good. They also carry the same warranty as a new powerhead, 1 year.

As far as remanufactured units go, I would prefer to use Merc if possible. But I have to admit that a few years ago I sold a Merc reman 225 EFI and noticed before dressing the powerhead that the pistons were used (they had definite carbon buildup on the bottom side of the pistons that you could see through the rod slots before installing the intake). For what we paid I was quite surprised to see used pistons. I called them on it and got some song and dance from a Merc rep that said these reman units were probably better than powerheads coming off the normal line as they got alot more "personal attention" to assure that clearances, etc. were all up to spec. That was quite a line, huh? :)
