Same carbs as the coveted T-IIX carbs. Worth much more than the $86.

Yep, it will be a sweet lookin' setup. Go for it as long as all you want to do is look at it. If you want to use your motor keep the original carbs on it.

The carbs are Tillotsens, originally used on the Merc T2 & T2X in the early 70's. In the mid 70's Merc offered a front half for the V6 with 6 of those carbs, but it was available from Merc High Perf ONLY, and I don't beleive ever factory installed on any engine offered to a customer. They were GREAT setups.
The one in the picture ain't one of em. I've never seen that front half and would be interested in knowing exactly what it is. As Bruster said, it's a neat piece for the shelf, but I wouldn't run it. The 6 carb front was amazingly thirsty fuel wise when jetted properly, and also fairly cantankerous.
As far as the buy itself, I think you stole em. Did the auction include both set ups? If so, I'd REALLY like to have one of em to go along with all the other junk I've got that I'll never run.:o

the auction was for only one of the setups - but the other setup was available on a different auction. The same guy had a 2.0L bridgeported F1 block also, claimed it was "from an old race team" and he thought it was no good. I might try to run the carbs just for sh*ts and giggles - not looking for any performance, just want to make people wonder when the cowl comes off! Now I just have to find a vertical fronthalf! I usually throw those things away! LOL:eek:

well, i got more info now on these carbs - guy says they came from bill seebolds shop?!? Hes got some other stuff on ebay right now that might confirm that (F1 gas tanks, driver-crew two way radios). Weird - wonder what the hell they were using these carbs for? and why were they using a 5 peddle vertical fronthalf?
Raceman - the other set went for $90 - you missed out man!

I can run any carb. Only thing Merc that's legal on an OMC. They are pretty good sized and there are parts available for them. I got a set of Yami's with powerjets instead.
