Hello,
could you help me to find out the difference between the Optimax 250XS and the regular Optimax 225? The 225 is the biggest Optimax available in Austria. I would like to have a bit more power for my 21īcat. Both engines are the 3L blocks, the 250 turns some 250 RPM more (the LU is different). Is there a easy way to get the 250 HP from the 225?
Thanks for all hints.

It's a bit more than 25 hp difference.

Would you happen to have that curve chart for the 225 Pro XS??

quick differences between 225 opti and 250XS:
liners
pistons
cylinder head
those differences alone make it economically unfeasable to try and upgrade

also most xs motors run higher fuel & air pressures than stock motors. & rpm limiters are 500 rpm higher making more hp.

Sounds like there was a difference in port timings, with a drop in compression, hence the different cylinder head to restore the compression

the engine blocks come down the same assy. line, on the newer motors. the only diff. is black inj,s that run 105-90 psi on xs motors & the ecm.

The 250 XS motors have a higher port timing, carbon fiber reeds, higher air & fuel pressure and Gray injectors. They only also have different fuel and ignition curves and higher rev limit. Only the outside of the blocks are the same.
