my fishing boat has a planing problem while cruising rough water. in order to get up on plane it ends up going to fast. if i try to slow down it falls off plane.if i try to find the sweet spot it slowly starts going faster on it`s own? was told maybe to much prop? otherwise it`s a great ride.

It's going to be very difficult to hold it at the transition speed you looking for...... At that speed the boat wants to become a planeing hull instead of a displacement hull????? prop changes will allow you to carry that speed longer but it will continue to want to plane off and gain speed as it does.... best thing I can think of is add more weight( water tank) to keep it from planeing or possablly trim all the way down to create drag???
I have heard of guys useing parchutes that drag in the water but I think your speed it to fast for that use do you have a trolling plate over the prop???
Got to re read your post what speed are you looking for ( and why) a prop change could be harmful to your motor ( to many rpm) what type of boat?? and motor

it is a center console fishing boat. has lots of weight already added.

Trim Tabs or a 4 blade prop will definately help that problem out!!

The attwood hydro stabilizer will keep you on plane at lower speeds as well as pop you up on plane faster without giving away any top speed.

i don`t any problem getting up to plane it just starts going to fast once it planes out.the hydro stabilizer comes out of the water once on plane thus being useless for my problem?

how fast is too fast? YOu aren't going to be able to cruise at 10mph on plane... most boats won't go much below 20 while still planing out...???

If you back off on the throttle your speed should begin to slow down until you begin to come off plane. The Attwood hydro stabilizer will keep you on plane at lower speeds ; down to approx 15 mph and will remain in the water until you get around 40 mph or so on a typical Vpad hull . After that the boat will lift more and more as speed increases until the stabilizer is out of the direct water flow ;not inhibiting top speed. --- mike
