What year did merc go to top guided rods?

Looks like Im buying a 93 200 and I was wondering if it has top or bottom guided rods. Thanks

I think it was late 91. If you look in the parts books, I think it will show both top and bottom guide for the 2.5 engines.

Late '91 or starting in '92, all '92 and newer are top guided.
