Howdy from the ACE basin area, Scott and I are really enjoying all the folks we have had the pleasure of boating with. We are looking for anyone in our area who would like to get together on weekends. Charleston, Walterboro, Hilton Head even Savannah GA. Fresh water or salt. Have to work Sat' morning, but will be on the water Friday after work Sat after work and Sunday after I get up. Tig and I ran into a guy up at Tailrace with an old STV last Sunday. Scott was talking about hitting the lake one day this weekend. I'm in for whatever.

I'm around Morris Island, Sandy Point, and all around the harbor just about every weekend. I just finished up a restore and repower of a 18' Whaler Outrage, so I won't be flying around anytime soon. I still want to take a look at that Talon though.
Even when my boat is finished, I still won't be good for high speed cruising, but I'm always up for running around and hanging out.

Choose a photo program that is most likely already in your programs in your computer , we use Ulead Photo express . Resize to 640 X 480 which seems to work for me . Then follow the attachment directions when you start a new thread . Usually takes me a 12 pack to get a dozen photos ready to upload . Coincidence ? Not likely !!

here is a really easy way to re-size the pics, it is one of the few really good programs from microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Click on the link and scroll down towards the bottom. On the right hand side you will see a link called Imageresizer.exe Click that and install.

Once installed, you can go to any picture in your computer, right click on it and the usual editing drop down menu will appear. In that menu you will now have an option that states: "re-size picture." Click that and you can re-size to any size you want, but if you choose "smallest," it is perfect for uploading to forums. Additionally, it does not alter your original file, it saves a copy in the smaller format. Ex. picture file was OspreyInADress.jpg, right next to it you will see OspreyInADress(small).jpg

Anyway, there are more instructions here than necessary, but my caffeine is kicking in. Just right click and re-size, that is all you have to do to get them to upload.

Hey there is 8 to 10 of us that play on the waterway and Wacc. river in Conway on the weekends. Mirage, Allison, Stv's is what we have. Mine is a slow '07 Mirage RR but its fun. This time of the year we all are getting our boats ready for the ECDBR races. They use to run all these races in Plymouth N.C. but I think they are going to have a couple close to Loris S.C. in Lake Tabor this year.

The ICW does have a few no wake zones near Marina's and bridges, but other than that it WOT. If you have seen it from the bridges that is the section that was dug through M.B. South of that its very wide and we have had drag boat and circle boat races near bucksport marina. That would be coming up 701 from Georgetown. There's a place called Sandy Island that alot of us go to. There are areas that you can run 8 boats side by side it so wide. As far as the east coast having a site, they did but no longer, but are trying to make a new one.

When the bassboats were all lined up fighting the current waiting for the trailers to get back in, I was the closest one to you guys, on the outside.

Did you see that TR21X with the 250ProXS at the dock at lunchtime? He had just popped his second powerhead. Both popped just out of break in, this time he did actually get it to 6100 before it let go. Myself and him had run side by side all the way from Cypress Gardens when his let loose about 100yds short of the no wake zone at Gilligans....

It's a brandy spanking new 250ProXS. The first powerhead popped with about 5hrs on it, MCM swapped the powerhead with a new, dressed powerhead. This one was broken in by the book, to the point of him using a stopwatch to time it. He had finished the break in on Friday and on Saturday was the first time he took it to 6100. It is rated to 6300. I feel bad for him.

It was funny though, that thing ran like a top when we put it on the trailer...MCM took a look and said #6 let go. Same one that failed on his other powerhead. At the ramp he said I was throwing a pretty good rooster tail, then asked what his looked like....He about died when I said "I don't know, you were behind me the whole time!" :D

Yes, that's the freshwater location. There is a boat landing on both sides of the canal. Yes there are a few sandy beaches there. There should be several go-fast boats there Sunday.

There are so many nice spots in the Stono. There are about 4 Ally's running there often.

Try checking the pad with a level. Should be flat.......... some had a downward hook that kept them lagging behind.

We were going to cut a step out of the rear of the pad but never got to it.

When we took my vt rocket apart it was full of wet foam.not only were the sponsons full of water logged foam,but all through the center was wet foam.I couldnt believe they put foam in the middle of the boat.The water had no where to go.If you get the water out of them and the pad is right they will run.Theres one guy on here that had a 200VT with a stock 225 HO Evinrude that ran mid eighties.Liquidfly has a 200VT with a 260 merc that runs high 90s maybe low 100s.Ive seen 180VTs run in the 100s.99% of these boats on the river are full of water logged foam(300-400lbs) and people cant figure out why they wont run.

We only use the Ashley during the week after work. It's too busy on the weekends. We have several boats going to the Tail race Sunday. Some will put in up near Gilligans (17a), Pimlico, Cypress Gardens and we will be putting in at Bushy Park to get a good long run in(20-25gals).

Ricky, Tig and I had a blast today. I managed to run 90mph from Capers Island all the way back to the Ben Sawyer Bridge. Nice stretch! Ricky hit 80 for the first time in the Ally. Now he can give Tig a run for his $$$$.

i am only getting about 80 mph out of it as of now,i am still about 5 to 6 inches below the pad. i am getting ready to order a bobs LWP so i can get it out of the water alot more. that should make a big difference.i am looking to get low to mid 90s. if i get that, ill stop there.... but thats what they all say.

had some unexpected task that have kept me away for a bit,
but anyway...I run 1992 Glastron Carlson, 18' with a 200 merc.
Heavy ass boat (1500lbs) but with the merc top out around 62mph loaded.
As far as getting out on the water after work....some days (work in S'ville and live in Charleston (just ouside of D'town). Have 3 to 4 weeks vaction coming up and I need it... Typically weekends are best.

Made it out to the Limehouse landing yesterday evening. The sand bar was packed and loaded with scenery. It finally thinned out around 7pm to made a half dozen or so 90+ runs.

All yall guys need to come to lake Tabor this weekend. If you want to race bring your boat and we will class you. If you don't want to race the lake will be closed to all but racers, come and watch. Practice on Saturday evening and racing on Sunday. lake Tabor is in Tabor city N.C. its about 30 mins. north of Conway or 30 mins. West of Myrtle Beach. This is our first race of the year, the first one was suppose to be May 6 in plymouth N.C. but that was the wind storm weekend and it was cancelled. This is the first time it has ever been held at Lake Tabor but not the last another July 15 and Oct 28. We are having a run whatever you want class only rec. is no NOS you have to buy fuel from on site race fuel truck then the other class as discribed in the ODBA rules. Would love to see all you with fast boats to come up and lets have a great time.

The Ashley sand bar is up past the Gardens. Just take those bends real wide and you're sure to find it. Or coming from Oakbrook landing hug the inside; the sand bar will sneak up on you rather quick.

The Ashley doesn't have many places to run that far up. When will ya'll be up there? I don't even know the tides for the weekend.

How's that VT run? I always thought the 20' were dogs compared to the 18'.......... Mods? Did you step the bottom?

We had talked about running the Stono River which runs between Johns and James Island out to Folly Beach and Kiawah Is.

Look around for a FALCON.

I don't know if they are still made but they are fast.

Panther was a V-bottom with a 8 inch pad.

The Falcon's were the same with a step transom like a Hydrosport or Tidecraft. (just smaller version)

A critchfield is not an ally splash,they are different.If I remember correctly,The critchfields were more of an on the edge boat and were more prone to blowover.This past weekend I was at the tabor city drag race and they had a class for the little 13ft boats.A few allys showed up but after they saw this 13ft critchfield with a worked over 70 yammy lay down a pass they packed up and went home:( These little boats are fun as hell.I used to have a 13ft glassream 140 stinger bass boat.It was a choppergun boat that was fairly lite.I had a Johnson SST60 on it.It was a fun little boat.That is until you pushed it to hard with the trim button and it would blowout!:eek:

Ordered paint yesterday. I had hoped to have it done by July 4th, but I'm having an aluminum fuel tank made. I can't get the measurements for the tank until the boat is flipped, so it looks more like August/September for completion.

Best running up that way is b/w the Drayton tressle and the Drayton Hall no wake. Any further up the runs are short or there are jetskis lingering on the hairpins.

I got that merc motor we talked about torn down, block is bare currently, 2.4 with a vertical reed front half (150 hp). Two of the cylinders have sleeves in them, they will need to be bored out. The other 4 are chrome, you may be able to save 2 of the chrome bores but you will definitely need sleeves in the other 2 chrome bore holes. Give me $60 at its yours. Was considering selling it on Ebay but hate the hassle of shipping something this big.

is it a 200 or 150 block?

Bore and Stroke Measured out to be a 2.4, but its got the vertical reed front end, which cut it back to the 150 using the smaller carbs. Block dated May 1986. If you want, I'll throw in the vertical reeds and intake as well.
