I have a 21 Liberator with a 86 200 Merc. I am running a Hoss Triton 3 Blade over the hub 26 pitch with a lot of cup in it. I can run it to 6300 rpm. I have no nose cone and no transom mounted water pickup and I do not want to add one. The motor sits low on the jack plate...when I am running wot the water is still over the top hole of the lower unit intake holes. My goal is to run as fast as I can at 6000rpm. I was going to have the prop re-pitched to maybe a 28. What pitch should I go to? Thanks. Reid.

It's probably going to be pretty sluggish-- It might take forever to get it up to top speed. You may lose some HP dropping RPMs. BUT, if you can run it a little higher, you might be able to lower your slip a bit and still get good RPM's with the 28. Only one way to find out, give it a try!

Don't have that prop worked.... A 28 CHopper will give you more lift than a Triton on a heavy boat. And I am looking for a 26 Triton.....

Drop me a line and lets see if we can work something out.

Thanks,

Russ
