Hey, I will follow suit. Start getting the boats ready for the spring. I guess I better think about putting the motor back together. Paddling sucks.

Damn right I'm sure we've all done it once in our lives! I'm going to get a new rub rail from John Spaeth this spring, and take a trip up there to his place. May 2-4?? Can't wait to see his shop. Haha too bad he isn't hiring:D
toys, what motor are you puttin back together? I slapping a 2.4 together myself. Most likely won't be on the boat this year, but still exciting!

John is building my other boat. What a thing of beauty the man has talent. I have built and sold a few motors for the Other boat (SRV) a few times now. Started with a mod base 2.5. sold it. Moved to a 260 mod. sold it. Moved to another 260 drag. sold it. Moved to a 280 highly modified. Thinking of selling it. Spring is getting close. The voodoo has a stinger lower unit, short mid, and now a highly modified base power head from a newer johnson 70 3 cylinder. If I don't like it I have a yahama 70 c in the works as well. I hope one of those will make the boat go.

Hey Roktoy, that is a good looking boat in your avitar. Is that yours? Next weekend, that will be a chilly one. I remember going for a few runs in the fall with a full snow suit on. It kind of looses it's appeal when your eyelids freeze shut.
I went snowmobiling in the Upper Penninsula two weeks ago.
then...
I pulled the boat halfway out of the garage on Monday 3-19 and waxed it.

Yes that is my boat. I don't care how cold it is, I just want to get a run in. After that I'll pick and choose the warmer days.

Hey Bogman, Did I meet you at John's shop last week? You going to pick up that boat and get out with us?
I'm with you Roktoy, I was breaking ice in my bay to get to the lake last fall for a few extra runs. Got to do it, but it still sucks freezing your eylids shut. Smile.

Better Toys...ya we met at Johns it was my buddy looking at the Lazer. I've already got a boat and one's enough for me, takes too much time keeping that going  You'll have to bring your SRV out to one of our runs this summer, would love to see that boat flyin...

Hey graemers, what do you need to get that 2.4 together? That would be a fun boat to see it run on.

Chris Lacey was kind enough to give me a piston and rod. I just need to bump up the compression in #6. I need a 20 inch lower unit too. I have a good 25 incher, but that won't work for obvious reasons
Yeah I'm betting it'll be too much to handle, but what the heck, might as well have 2 motors!

We will be at Cooch for the week before May 24, and the long weekend, if anyone wants to stop by.
Maybe the lake will cooperate and be calm. It never does when Inline6 visits.

Then off to pick up the power.

That looks awesome!! I like the sub box under the deck..very cool. I was up there last night doing some final sanding and noticed it missing. Taking it home must feel good lol. Nice trailer too ;).
Better Toys
05-09-2007, 07:03 AM
Do you make the trailers or do you import them. I was looking at your boat at Johns as I thought I recognized it from your avitar. I remember John saying that you had some sort of connection with the trailer. Were you up there working on the deck?
You going to have it in the water this year?
It feels great having it home. I have a million things to do around the house to catch up because I was at Johns every day for the last few months. THe irony is I don' t have any time for the boat. Smile, but soon.

That is the next big step. I think I will go for a drive at the beginning of next month for some power. Did you get a light for the front of your boat yet? I have not decided if I like the one I have or not. It is a good light just looks a little to big. But I guess I shoild worry about the bigger things first. It was great working with you. I can't wait to see the platinium version completed. It will look pretty hot.
M.
Ya the light bugs me, John ordered me the same one you have. I might have to go pull-up flush mount...hate to cut a hole that big in the deck though.
here is one or two for ya.
Disregard the garage...... I am in the middle of renovations, and now the boat has got in the way.

We're the distributor for Ontario/Quebec for Eagle, Shoreland'r and Karavan...I got LOTS of trailers right now lol. I was up working on the deck. Filling any chips that the sandblaster made....more effing sanding. Yes, I will have it in the water this summer...sooner then later...I hope...
I wanna see either in the water!!

Hey Better Toys,
Can I look at your boats? I'll be at our cottage May 17-20. Sadly I can't buy your Voo Doo, or even keep my own. But I'd like to see a completed SRV and a nice Voo Doo.
I am replacing my Voo Doo with a parent friendly boat.

Hey Rob, Motor looks great. Your killing me, now I am in motor mode, I want one too. I better check into it. That side ram steering looks pretty nice to. You will have to cover that up before you start buffing. I am keeping an eye on my deck. So far so good.
There is no way I am cutting a hole that large. Not a chance, I am looking into a few alternatives. I still want their back light though.
