Have the injectors cleaned and flowed

i dont under stand how having the injectors cleaned and flowed would cure a rich condition, who performs that service , thank you

You can use Kinsler or RC engineering.
If the injector is dirty, the fuel will not atomize correctly and as such not burn fully, it will make for a lazy motor, having the screans pulled is a good idea. Even if this is not the problem , it is a good idea to do every season anyway.

are you saying to have the screens removed and not put back in, is there anything electronically other than the ecu that can cause a rich condition, thank you

Lots of times a drity injector can cause the pinto to sick open longer than it should letting more fuel in.

Are all cyclinders running too rich or just one or two.

all are running rich
The injectors can make one or two cylinder run poorly when they are clogged but six cylinders are unlikely. Have you checked all the vacuum ports to make sure they are clear.
Steve had a problem just like yours a while back, he tried everything. It turned out to be a bad EFI wiring harness.

stroker had a rich running 260 a while back which turned out to be a bad temp sensor. The resistence of the sensor should be about 8000 ohms at 70-75 degrees. Higher is richer.
Jim
That is another possibility.

John,
Last year we were talking about a friend of yours that had twin mercs, both running extremely lean with boxes set at 115%. Did you ever resolve that one?
Jim
Yes, he sold the boat.:D But I never got enough time with the boat to really do a lot of testing. The boat was 200 miles from me.

maybe the new owner will discover S&F and you will get another chance?? Two more virtual motors!!
Jim
That would be my worst nightmare.:D
