I would sand it litely with 120grit , that will bring it back unless you'd rather polish on it for hours, and if you want it to stay that way i would sand it and clear it!! That would keep it looking nice until it chips and starts to peel:eek:

A smooth clear paint finish really grips the water, which is why it will start peeling so quickly. You want a rough finish.

You're bonefishing aren't you? There is no product that I know of that keeps is shiny. If you paint it then when you run the flats the sand will take it off. You can try a corrosion guard but will have to clean and reapply after each use. Also since there is no paint protection be real careful about salt corrosion around the water intakes and where the lower unit meets the mid section.
If it were mine I would zinc chromate it and paint it black.

Flatsmaster, I have a sportsmaster on my Pro Max300, I have found that using one of the green scotchbrite pads with some soapy water has kept mine looking great.then just flush it with some clean water. It should keep it looking like aluminum paint. Once you start polishing it,you will be a slave to it. Frank

Flatsmaster,
I got a product from Mike and Danny Agnew called Toon Brite. They use it to clean the bullets on pontoon boats. Just spray it on and hose it off. I haven't used it yet, but it should work like a champ. I hope to try it today. I will let you know how it works.
