I'm in Fort Lauderdale, but on the rare occassion I can get in the water I am most often in the St. Lucie River from the Palm City ramps. My son Matt lives in Port St. Lucie, and he sometimes has the boat there too.

I think you were in a thread started by Jupiter Pulsar a while ago (maybe a year ago) about getting together. For me, it's hard to find the time, but I would love to.

my name is charlie, i am a marine mechanic by trade and have my own business(action mobile marine), i specialize in sea ray yachts and diesel engines, but started years ago on gas and outboard engines, am factory certified on mercury, mercruiser and yamaha, so i have been around outboards for a while, i just purchased a virage, and am in the process of building a powerhead, it might be done for the weekend(hopefully!!), instigator, let me know how your project is going

"boataholic" too ;)
Charlie, I'm a ways off on new motor project. Fairly expensive and $$ is tight.
I have a 18' center console beer hauler too though.
Will be busy at Miami show all this week and first half of next and the boss (my fiance) can't get time off until March.
We are planning a camping trip after that. We camped in Sebastion a month or so ago and are hooked on the place and will be going back.
Place is right on the I.C. and across from Capt. Hirams and 2 other bars accesible by boat.
There is also a dozen uninhabited islands in same area. Groups camping on each when nice.
We are thinking same thing too. Maybe one night there and then campground 2nd night to have showers, running water. (or sneak in for a shower)
Last time, was an absolute hoot!

I'm off Becker Road near the Turnpike.

I have a 17' skiff up here, bringing up our old Vandal for a restoration in the next few weeks. I can grab the Eliminator from my dad (above) if we set up a run some time. Been pretty busy with the house & dogs lately, but its almost sandbar season.

Camping will get tough around here come April or so, the bugs get pretty bad when its warm. We usually camp on the spoil islands near Harbor Branch north of Ft. Pierce, or Nest Key west of Key Largo. There's an island about a mile south of Hiram's on the west side of the channel that is a nice campground too.

As you guys know, I'm in Jupiter but I run up to the St Lucie inlet all the time. Last sunday we docked for lunch at the Pirates Cove inside the Manatee Pocket. The sandbar inside St. Lucie inlet could be a good place to meet one sunday.

Depends what you guys want to do???

The area of Sebastion we are going to is some of the prettiest I've seen in Fla yet. (not counting Keys)
Only problem is being on the Intra Coastal it does get rough.
The fun factor though with bars on water, and it will be hopping on that weekend .... :) :) :)

Another option is Indian Town and the river close to my house. Absolutely freagin gorgeous park/ramp facility on about 35 miles of water. Beach's to hang out on etc.
If you head East it will take you to Lake Okeechobee and the rim canals along it which I have been wanting to explore.
There are a couple of bars/destinations along there that are supposed to be hopping with boats and scooters on the weekend.

Doubt my junk will be together by then but still have the fish bote.
Long as you guys drop bread crumbs :)

Is Sebastian where you guys went over New Year's? I think you had posted a link to one of the local hangouts/bars? If it's a little rough not a big deal, we'll be in the Pantera. :D

why didn't you say so :)

http://www.hirams.com/

It is the most fun bar I've been to in this state. And yes, is where we were on New Yrs.

A dozen uninhabited islands (with beachs) within a couple miles from there.
Access to Atlantic straight across the I.C.
You have to follow channels in a real boat like that though due to water depth.
It's marked but you need to pay attention.

Hirams has several bars, always has great live bands, boats pulling up on beach and walking up to Tiki Bar.
Another killer bar (two actually), walking distance (boating in shallow draft boat) that has an awesome courtyard style outdoor Tiki bar.
Hotel right there, although probably booked, awesome restaurant on a dock 1/2 mile away by boat.
It is the schiit!

You guys go, I'll go ;)

Hirams is an hr drve from our hiuse and we drive up just to go there for the evening or day.
It hops pretty much all weekend if weather is good.

The capper is there are multiple ramps within a mile of there.

looks like caming in Sebastian this weekend instead of the Keys.
She only works 1/2 day tomorrow so we should have our own private Idaho staked out on a secluded island in time for a fire on the beach ;)

Get drunk and howel at the moon after visiting the local establsihments by boat :)

Then spend all day Saturday in lawn chairs on the beach in the sun.

I hate this state. Never anything to do.
