I had an F600 w/ 330HD 5sp and 2sp rear axel. I hauled 10 tons of crushed shale from the quarry one time (5 tons over, truck weighed only 5 ton). Good thing the scales weren't open :D

Ran 11.96 @ 111 mph today in a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 DIESEL pickup. That's got to be some abuse!

I thought that would get you out Woodco! I knew you loggers load the hell out of those trucks! I bet that 425hp was grunting.

I really don't like to load mine that much. A lot of running is on soft ground. Yes, I have a big chain! Kind of hard on equipment too.

What's that white stuff?;)

11.96!!!!!? Damn, auto or standard?

I knew Woodco would take it! He probably has some great stories about haulin to!

I remember when I used to do those trips to the quarry in our F600. We were putting driveways and basements in as side work at the time. Everytime I'd get in the quarry, I had to remember to get out of the truck! Not only to scream at the guy in the MEGA loader "Half scoop!" (10 tons), but also in case he slipped I wouldn't get burried under 20-30 tons of shale!

That keeps the DOT Boys in their cars !!!!!! :D
That load was a New Years Day venture ;) Tried to get in the
scale house but they were closed !!!!!! :D So we had to weigh
it ourselves

Fc ..... That Kitty Cat handled it well :p

BL ..... I took the 1 ton to the quarry the other day for some gravel for the parking lot . Sat in the truck was feelin lazy :)

Go to the scale and the guy says do you know what yur gross registered weight is ???? I said 8500 lbs!!!!!! He hands me the scale slip 17,535 gross !!!!!!!!

I said Thanx and have a nice day !!!!!!!!! ( Poor Dodge )

I was working in a scalehouse in Eastern Kentucky and saw a coal truck come through grossing just over 180,000 lbs. I bout had a ****-fit, asked the guy workin the scales if they would let him leave like that, he said "oh yeh, Do it all the time". I asked what heaviest he ever saw was and he said 207,000. I said I was sure glad I did not live around there.

so just how bad are the d.o.t. tickets when your 30 or 40 thousand over. my boss about had a fit when our lowboy got two overweight tickets in 3 days. they were small though, one was 4400 over on the trailer axles and the other was only like gross 82000.

I usually am on back roads anyway. I could get a permit, but I would be over anyway.

I talked to a guy that was hauling and got a ticket. He payed it and went to get a permit....permit was higher than the ticket.....? Figures.....:o

Your guaranteed to pay at least $ 500.00 for 1 lb over ....
Then it's like $ 1.00 / lb .............

I've heard of guys gettin nailed for $ 7500.00 !!!!!!!

Not heavy, just big.

When I bought my Sea Ray (10ft beam), I called the State boys and asked them if I needed a permit to tow it 5 miles from the marina to my home on a state road (not a highway). The Trooper said "If I catch you with that anywhere without a permit, you're mine"

Guess he sceeeered me :D I bought the permit ($27) but don't think I'll do it again when it goes back to the marina. Maybe for longer trips.

Corruption !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all for money !!!!!!!!!!!

Get this...... If you have a truck (18 wheeler ) registered for
80,000 they can still give you an overweight ticket for violating
the " Bridge Law ". But !!!!!!!!!! If you buy a permit ... Wait !!!!!
I mean pay them $ 700.00 in Protection Money !!!!!!

Then yur legal ....... Go figure

LMAO!!!!

$7500!!!! DAMIT! Maybe that guy was refering to a wide load...cannot remember.

Last year I took my Pete to Jackson, MS to have the AC fixed. I had to go through the weight stations on both sides of the river (Mississippi) both ways....even though I was bob tailing....boy that makes a lot of sense! LOL

And I thought Louisiana roads were rough until I went to Mississippi!

Best (Or worse) I've ever done was 98,500 with a Superliner tri-axle dump with a load of contaminated soil. The dude at the scalehouse at the treatment plant kept looking back to see if the guy behind me had his front axle on the scale with me. It was funny til I had to dump it out and that wet nasty crap vacuum sealed itself inside the box. I thought I'd never get it out. Pulled the front wheels off the ground when it finally did though:D

GVW on tri-axles here is 70,000

Since were talking about abuse here I might as well share this. Picked up a load of furnace fume dust from a refractory.Very light stuff but they wet it down with the fire-hose too keep it from blowing around, it looks like white mud. The guy asked what I was legal for I told him 90,000# gross . The guy takes around twice as long too load it as it usally does, don't think anything of it. No scale at the plant , get paid by recieved wieght. Take off, truck feels really sluggish. Get down the road to the factory I'm taking it too roll on the scale , guess what too frigging heavy I zero the scale out only has 145,000# capacity . Split wiegh the truck and trailer, I just about died 158,000# gross.
The old hoist pump in the truck groaned away and I was really scared that the trailer was too heavy too dump. Had too shovel about 5 tons out of the nose before it would fully pump off.
Lesson learned I got into the habit of being over clear with people when telling them what I want.

Now thats what I call HEAVY !!!!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is when you don't know exactly what you way
ya just motor down the road with the thought you may be
overloaded ....... But !!!!! When they tell ya before ya leave the
scale what you actually weigh !!!!

It jus gives ya a funny feelin goin down the road
