Parker you should have it on the river side of the locks, the lake is real low right know, so running in the rim canal will be more narrow

if there is a tourney, you need to go to harney pond canal on the north side of the lake.

Just a thought, you can run on the west side of the locks which is the Caloosahatchee river--they use to run the kilo races there yeaaars ago--or have it in the river behind River Ranch--where the DCI 1000' shoot-out was held. Only problem with River Ranch is ramps. The problem west of the lock is LARGE!! boats! Just my $.02 Mike T. BTW I heard "someone" turned a 34 cleaver 7400 with a 1:75 gear in a S/M case!;)

what about spotters with radios at each end. If a boat is coming anywhere near where the passes are made, the spotter radios the other end and the run is flagged until the boat and/or wake is cleared.

the canal is where you would want to run anyways, not the lake. theres like 10 miles of straight canal from the bridge north.

As far as radios at each end goes PFFF.Parker and I tried that at the last speed runs at the Suwannee. We talked about it at the drivers meeting and it got ignored.Hank and Dennis stated doing passes before the radio boats could get set up and they ended up doing passes while boats were still setteling in to watch anyway.Good luck with that.

Lance I live right down the street from the Lake Washington boat ramp, you can put 2 boats in at once, the lake is fine right now but the river system is real low, there is a damm at the north end of Washington that holds the water back, up at 520 the water is real low to the point of small boats and air boats, Lake Washington has a park like setup with pavillions and is neat, but if the wind blows the shallow lake can get rough

Dave 120 is good for a first run in the boat.I feel that you are the man that can make 125-130 happen if its possible.Being designed with drag racing (launching, handeling etc) in mind hopefully the Q-shot will prove to be as fast as the STV at top end with the same power.Maybe maybe not.Either way its still one bad ass boat. The River Rocket has set the bar very high.:)

Greg Dave said its near the intersection of highway 27 and 80.Basicly east of Alva.He said turn on to 27 and go over the real tall bridge and then turn around and head back to the bridge and the ramp is rite there. He also said you should be able to drive along the canal so if you didnt bring a boat you can still watch. Its the town of More Haven.

Glad everyone was smart and safe though.

Almost jumped in the Mrs's rag top and road tripped up to spectate but knew if the wind was the same there as by me you'd have trouble.

i don;t know if we will do this 280 thing again, but i am sure there will be a top end shootout again sometime. just don't know where or when, people have to realize how dangerous going this fast in a open cockpit boat is any little thing can mean disastor at this speed alot of people think that you just get in one of these boats and go this fast and that is not the case it does take alot of seat time and understanding of what is going on with the boat to somewhat safly run this fast. hopefully evryone that decide's to try to go fast use's some common sense and takes the nesseasay procautions to do it as safly as possible, it would be a tradigity to lose a fellow boater.thanks one last thing for everyone who came out and everyone who has been following this post was nice seeing everyone and had a great time, andy&elain, kenny,&rob was fun hanging out will have to do it again sometime.thanks keys dave:cool:
