A buddy called me and said he is looking at a Baker tunnel 20 or 21 foot with a 2.4 on it. I am not familiar with these and would like to know if there is something in particular he should be looking for with this hull....thanks, Scott

Send a PM to Jeff H. He used to have one. His buddy bought it from him and still has it.

The Rampage was their picklefork tunnel, I don't know if it had a center pod or not. I was thinking it did since they had a jet pump option.
So, I would say Baker did not make any full tunnels.

They probably have some tunnel with a Baker Marine decal on it...

The Baker tunnels I knew of were mod vp. The only one I have any pics of is the one Earl Moorman blew over back in 1982. Sorry about the quality.

In the mid 80's a friend stopped by my place on the water in Louisiana, he had a Baker bassboat with a V8 OMC on the back,,,, it was a beast. Only saw it in the water tho, but it was a tunnel, I would imagine it had a center pod the way it rode.

Baker Bassboats have the RST bottom (ModVP).

Modvp, Modified "V" Production. Some builders made a new hull mold by adding sponsons to the out side of a "V" hull. Others with less dead rise would clay in incerts into the "V" hull and then go that route. This way they would not have to build and store another mold, and just use some good strong incerts to form the tunnel.

The Baker was more like the latter. The front end of the hull looks like a shallow V-hull with two tunnels carved into it.

Minnesota Duane, I am from the Rockford-Buffalo area. I have an Allison with a 2.5 carb that I tear up the local lakes with and occasionally the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. You should come to Barefoot Bob's Drag Race(s) and run lake racer 1.
I have contacted my buddy and told him to go look at the boat again to get more info. Will report back when he calls me...Scott

I didn't know there were boat drags in Minnesota I don't have any info on the Baker, I am looking for some my self thats how I stumbled onto this post. I would be happy to help in any way. Let me know about barefoot Bob's would love some details. The Baker wont see water this summer I plan on a full redo on it. I have a '77 Hawaiian that I bought last summer on ebay that started the addiction.
