Have a friend that replaced his 90 hp powerhead for a 140. Was done by a reputable shop. He also had to change carbs. When the powerhead was installed the mechanic fattened it up for breakin. The question is what size jets should he have. It's a stock 140 with NO mods. I don't know a thing about OMC's. I know the jet size does not reflect the size of the hole. Any advise appreciated.

What size carbs did he put on it?
set the Timing at 28 Degrees, 67 jets are safe and make sure he runs 92-93 octain all the time! Every 2 months of normal use run "Engine Tune" through the motor and alittle carbon guard every other tank.

Laker I like your advice because of running the engine tune. I say every fifty hours. Now as for the carbon guard on loopers yes but on a crossflow no I would be afraid of leaning the octane down with carbon guard in fuel. This is just opion and Im not in the least questioning you there are too many chemical additives in the gas available at the pump. Rick

Hey Rick
How ya doing? Hows the Sidewinder?
I would not recomend Carbon Guard on a mod XFlow but he did state No mods and with 67 mains (plenty Safe for Nashville) it will be good to go on 93 octaine even with 2 ounces of Carbon guard.
