Im starting a new project. Im building a 120 looper. I have the engine striped down to bore out .030 to .040 over size. any ideas as to what I need to do to get the max out of my engine like porting, finger ports, shaving heads, cutting reed block. also what parts i would need to chang to make the 120 into a 140.

There are a couple of V4 looper guys on hear that can take you as far into modifing as you want to get.

Year model would help though, is it a 1.8L 3.5 or 2.0 3.685 bore.

Punching a 1.8 out to 2.0 helps but not just any shop can bore it, it has to have a relief cut in the bottom of the cylinders.

Finger ports help to some degree, but you don't have enough block metal to get them as deep as needed for the full benifit. Plan on $400+ to have in finger ported.

Intake ports are pretty deep in that motor, raising them will be needed to get the power band up but unless you've done a lot of porting on the loopers, those transfer ports are going to be better left to someone that knows how to do them and has the tools.

Six Killer, and Laker are two that know those motors real well. Racer can do all your machine work, and the possibly the porting if he's not booked up.

If I'm not mistaken, the intakes and the reed cages are bigger on a 140. I hear you could rob the parts from a V6 and they would fit.

V4 loopers. 6 Killer is the man. Del Eaves at Nichols Outboard is where you go after Chris tells you what to do.
