I did this using a warning light I made up myself because the horn is not very loud with a helmet on. This thread describes the hookup on a 300x...

I'm sure it just hooks up in parallel with the horn, or between the tan/blu wire and ground. If there is an external horn hooked up to the same place, make sure the 2 combined don't exceed what the oil pressure module or temp button can take.

hope it helps

On my motor (300x) the tan/blu IS the ground, so putting the lamp between this wire and ground will not work.

One side of the lamp needs to ground through tan/blu while the other side of the lamp needs a power supply (switched power is PURPLE - which I used).

I don't know what the maximum acceptable current is in the tan/blu wire but I just used a LED shift light so current is lower than required for the lamp in the Mercury kit.

As above rigged mine from a auto fog light & car horn.
Point to note is add a test function to ground so you can test horn & light (Simple PTT rubber booted switch)
Needs to go in Parallel otherwise you will loose both on a single failure

Propwash,
You're right, my bad. The overtemp switch and the oil sensor ground the tan/blu wire at alarm.
