OMC 200 225 Difference?

I have a 89 200 rude (e200stleb). I checked the online parts catalog and the only differece I found was the throttle bodys had different part numbers and low speed orifaces were different. High speed jets were the same, block same, carb same, Intake same,reeds same etc... I wonder If it was just a bigger throttle body and IF IT really gave it 25 more HP. If thats the case It would be an easy 25 hp to get.

The powerheads have the same part number. You've found the differences in the components. However, remember that advertised hp ratings have a +/- they're allowed by the NMMA. There may not be exactly 25 hp difference. The 200 rating may be conservative and the 225 may be optomistic. The actual results you see on any given hull at a given rpm may not be what you'd expect.
