Mariner ??

Did mariner make a 225hp 2.5 in 2000, if so are these good engines and did anyone have any problems with these.

Yes they did! Mariner O/B's are the same as Mercury O/B's just different colors. Mariner's are put together in Canada, that's the only difference. They are very good motors. They make a 2.5 liter (200/225hp) and a 3.0 modle (250hp). Hope that helps!:)

yup... totally agree with Vegas "V's" . the Mariner name was adopted for Mercury Marine's overseas market. According to the "History of Mercury" videos on here they chose the Mariner name because it made one think of toughness and durability. Hmmm, I wonder if I paint my merc grey will it be "Better In The Long Run?" he he he
