Hi Guys!

I Called Mercury And 1st Guy I Talked To Said All High Five Props Are Small Hub. I Called Back With Another Question And 2nd Guy Told Me There Are Large And Small Hub High Fives. So I Am Not Calling Merc Anymore. I Should Have Come To You Guys First. My Motor Is A 1977 Merc 1750. Merc Says It Should Have The Large Case (4 3/4 Opening), But It Has The Small (4 1/4 Opening). The Prop Coming Off Measures Exactly 4 Inches Across Hub. The High Five I Want To Buy Measures 4 1/4 Across Hub. Can Someone Please Tell Me If This Is A Small Hub Or Large Hub Prop? Part # 48-815760-21. It Seems To Me If It Was A Large Hub Prop It Would Measure Closer To 4 3/4. Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

I believe the odd size pitches such as the 21 are large hub props and the even sizes such as a 24 etc, are small hub props.

catfish may be correct. I know on the older ones that don't use the flotorq were that way. Even pitches = small hub & odd pitches = large hub.
Don't know about them since they went to the flotorq though.

I have a 20" High Five flo torque and it is a small hub. I understand that odd pitches are large and even are small hubs too.

BTW my 20" is for sale.

The odd sizes are large hub, and the even sizes are small hub. The steepest small hub is 24".

Small bore (4 1/4") are about 4 inches across the tube, Large bore are about 4 3/8 " as I remember.

If you look them up in the mercury parts direct, you will find the large size listed as for v6's, the small size are listed in the 3 and 4 cylinder stuff.

I'm running a 24" high 5 on a 88 150 XR4. It is a small hub lower.

I love the prop. Hole shot to die for even with the engine high, and ssmmmooooootttthh as silk.

hope it helps
John
