Cowl Mod for XR6

I am getting the heads cut on my "95" 2.5 XR6, as rich as the xr6 runs would it help to install the louvers or someway get more air (velosity stacks or remove air box or add louvers) guys are saying they pick up 200 RPM w/ cowl mod. I am adding a 2.4 bp tuner also and want to do all upgrades at the same time any help will help this rookie!
