29' center console
Running 70-1/2 mph on GPS
5000 - 5100 rpm
28 pitch Bravo 1
with ventilated hub
Twin Mercury 250 EFIs

Redline is 5800 on those motors, can I repitch to 26 pitch?

Isn't my slip-age rather high? Is there a better all around prop?

Thanks!

You can, but it's always better to pitch up than down. Some prop docs will do 1" and others will do 2".

Theoretically, 2 degree would add how many rpm? mph?

from what i have found out recently, you can expect to loose 150-200 rpm for every inch of pitch that you increase. But.......I have seen first hand that different types of props act differently. On my fish/ski boat I went from stock 22p quicksilver to bravo1 25p cleavor and gained 300rpm:eek: , then went to 4-blade trophy plus 23p and lost 150 from stock but gained 3mph and better fuel mileage.:D I have learned from some of the gurus here like T-REX, Pyro, The BIG AL, and others your boat setup has a lot to do with how your engine performes with any certian prop. Can you tell us about engine height, boat weight, weight dist., etc?

Thanks! The first thing to look at is getting the motor rpm higher. 5000-5100 at that rpm you are lugging the motors, not good. It's hard to beat the performance of the bravo 1 prop's. I would pitch them to 26 that will gain you about 400 rpm and should increase all around performance. Hope this help's. Rich

get jackplates for the motors, raising them up will let them spin faster.
